Orbis vs Instantly
Last reviewed: 22 July 2026. Facts about Instantly are drawn from their public documentation and pricing pages, linked at the bottom. If anything looks stale, email hello@orbis.run.
Instantly is best understood as a cold email sending platform: multiple sender inboxes, a warmup pool, a sequence builder, and a unified inbox for replies. Orbis is a different shape of product — it runs the full outbound loop as a single autonomous system rather than a tool an SDR drives.
Who each product is for
Orbis is for teams that want the outbound loop itself to run — you provide a customer, a URL, and a budget, and the system finds people, drafts, verifies, sends, and routes replies without an SDR in the loop
Instantly is for teams that already have someone writing sequences and sourcing lists, and mainly need a place to spin up many sender mailboxes and warm them
Outcome comparison
| Capability | Orbis | Instantly |
|---|---|---|
| Time to first send | Minutes from URL | Hours after you build the list, load, and warm mailboxes |
| Prospect data | Included — lookalikes of your own customers | Bring your own list or add Instantly's B2B lead finder as a separate add-on |
| Email verification | Waterfall verification included per lead | Included on plans that offer verification credits; add-on otherwise |
| Warm sending infra | Isolated warmed mailboxes managed by Orbis | You buy and configure sender mailboxes; Instantly runs the warmup pool |
| Copy drafting | Written per audience from your business context, multiple variants | You write sequences; AI assist is available inside the editor |
| Reply handling | Hot replies routed; unsubscribes/bounces closed automatically | Unibox for triage — you sort replies yourself |
| Autonomy | End-to-end autopilot | Operator driven |
| Setup burden | One workspace, no infra to buy | Buy domains, configure DNS, load lists, warm mailboxes, build sequences |
| Pricing shape | Metered per verified send | Seat + add-ons (mailboxes, warmup, lead finder) |
Data & sourcing
Instantly ships a bring-your-own-list experience and sells access to a separate B2B lead database as an add-on module. Orbis includes audience discovery in the core product: you give it a customer, it finds people who look like that customer using your business context, no separate seat or database to license.
Verification
Instantly offers verification credits on paid plans and also lets you plug in a third party. Orbis verifies every address with EmailListVerify before a send is ever attempted. Undeliverable and unknown addresses do not consume a send.
Deliverability
Both products treat deliverability as a first-class concern. Instantly gives you a warmup pool you can attach to mailboxes you own, and per-mailbox sending caps. Orbis manages the mailboxes for you on isolated sending domains, so your primary domain is never exposed to cold traffic.
Campaign creation
Instantly's editor is designed for a human writing a sequence — templates, variables, A/B slots. Orbis writes the sequences from your onboarding context (site, ICP, offer), produces multiple variants per audience, and stages the campaign in a paused state so you can review before it activates.
Personalization
Instantly supports variable insertion and Spintax; deeper personalization typically means adding Clay or a similar enrichment tool in front of it. Orbis personalizes from the candidate research it already did during audience matching — no separate enrichment step to configure.
Reply handling
Instantly's Unibox groups replies in one place for you to triage. Orbis classifies replies (interested, not now, unsubscribe, bounce, OOO), auto-suppresses the terminal categories, and only routes the "interested" replies to a human.
Autonomy
Instantly is a sending platform: it does exactly what an operator asks it to do. Orbis runs on an autopilot loop — once you approve the first campaign, it continues to find, verify, draft, and route without you re-driving each step.
Setup burden
Instantly assumes you'll purchase and configure sender domains and mailboxes, warm them, load lists, and build the sequences. Orbis onboarding is: give it a URL and a customer, approve the first paused campaign, done.
Pricing model
Instantly's pricing is seat-based with add-on modules for the B2B lead finder, extra mailboxes, verification credits, and Unibox seats. Orbis meters usage per verified send from a pre-funded wallet — no seat count, no add-on modules.
Choose Orbis when
- You do not have an in-house SDR writing sequences and sourcing leads.
- You want the whole loop to run without you re-driving each step.
- You value not touching your primary domain's reputation.
- You want per-send economics rather than seats + add-ons.
Choose Instantly when
- You already have an SDR (or agency) writing the sequences and sourcing lists.
- You want to bring your own domains and mailboxes and just need infrastructure to run them.
- You need a mature multi-inbox sending platform and are fine assembling verification and lead data separately.
Using both (migration & complementary use)
Some teams pair the two: Instantly for existing playbooks the SDR team drives manually, Orbis for a parallel, autonomous new-business track that shouldn't compete for the SDR's attention. If you migrate wholesale, export your suppression list from Instantly first so Orbis honors it from day one.
FAQ
Does Orbis use Instantly under the hood?
Orbis integrates with sending providers, including Instantly-family infrastructure, but the audience discovery, verification, drafting, and reply routing are Orbis's own — you don't need to buy an Instantly seat to use Orbis.
Can I bring my own Instantly mailboxes to Orbis?
Orbis manages sending infrastructure by default. Bring-your-own-mailbox is not part of the standard onboarding today; if that's a hard requirement, email us.
Is Orbis cheaper than Instantly?
Different shape. Instantly's price scales with seats and add-on modules. Orbis is per verified send from a pre-funded wallet, so cost tracks volume instead of headcount.
How is deliverability compared to a warmed Instantly setup?
The determining factors — reputation of the sending domain, warmup age, per-inbox pacing — are the same either way. What Orbis changes is that we run those on isolated sending domains you don't own, so your primary domain isn't exposed to cold traffic at all.
Do I review before anything sends?
Yes. Campaigns are created in a paused state on the sending provider. You activate.
